Part of yesterdays adventure - I haven't been in the city for quite a while. Was definitely overdue! The weather was so nice that I ended up walking 7 miles!!
Sunday's hike was the Pyramid Mountain loop that I have wanted to do for years. I actually have an entire list of mountains called "This is so close, why haven't I hiked it yet".
The famous NYC skyline! (marred by our need for electricity)
The famous Tripod Rock!
Despite her mountain goat-like abilities on the trail, I did have to carry the littlest hiker down the section pictured below. It made for some interesting balancing on my part!
We survived all 4.6 miles of it and are ready for the next hike!
It was a nice last trip to the fair - we watched some of the new acts including a fire juggler and some bawdy singers.
But the icing on the cake was that within 15 minutes of getting thru the gate, I met the snarling Sheriff. It happened quite by accident and I am ecstatic that I got to tell him how much he means to my faire experience. Unfortunately I also made him feel old in the process – whoops. It doesn’t show in the pictures though – my cheeseball grin eclipses everything.
And we made time for the Guard Show!!
“Hail Caesar, Hail me!”
Rainy weather also meant front row seats to the joust!
Wazzzzup!
A good end to the season but it went by WAY too quickly!!
It was a nice easy going, fantastic weather Sunday - complete with sweet surprises in the garden, a neighboring downtown's farmer's market and a very long "getting to know you" chat with someone that I have known for years.
We had both extremes of weather but still a fun day!
Would have been more fun if I had not gotten all shy during "Meet the Sheriff" but that's my own fault....25 years of fangirling and I got a bit worried that the character would not hold true to my memories.
Eh, I will have another chance to meet the snarl in a few weeks!
Since the weekend's travel plans changed several times, I opted to stay local. First stop was a dog show - it has been ages since I went to one....I did not have enough time (or hands) to love on all of them!!
Second hike of the week that I joined in on....needed the stretch after dancing until 2 am....
We took a
break and I was asked to look up in a certain direction…turns out that it was the
rock that had been the destination of my first hike in the area!! Neat to see
it again from a different perspective!
For those of you that wonder what goes on in my brain, miss the sparkle or just wonder what I'm up to.....here I will share the randomness of my mind.....all the real secrets will stay in my paper and ink journal......
