I was thinking that I'm playing with fire/being Pandora in a couple of situations but it’s so not true. They are not potentially bad, I do care and I’m not being selfish.
It works for me right here, right now in this spacetime continuum, so a big raspberry to those that "just don't get it". You're not supposed to - it's not your life.

Its not playing with fire/being Pandora if you're doing the right thing for YOU. As much as you love your friends and family, you're the only one who can live your life, so you better do right by yourself.
BTW - It's been my experience that life changing decisions are NEVER easy, even if they're the right ones to make. YMMV, of course.
